Role Description The Collision Shop Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Salmon River, NS. This position is responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, including managing repair workflows, scheduling jobs, and ensuring timely completion of all collision repair work. The manager coordinates and supervises technicians and support staff, promotes safe work practices, and maintains high standards for repair quality and customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include monitoring inventory and equipment, collaborating with insurance partners, managing estimates and work orders, and controlling costs to meet performance and profitability targets. The role also involves coaching team members, resolving customer concerns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the shop.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, coaching, and performance management.
- Experience in collision repair or automotive service operations, with knowledge of body shop processes and quality standards.
- Customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with customers, insurers, suppliers, and team members.
- Organizational and time management abilities to prioritize work, manage schedules, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic financial and business skills for budgeting, cost control, and understanding key performance indicators.
- Familiarity with repair estimating systems, shop management software, and general computer proficiency.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety practices and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a collision center or automotive environment is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
