We’re building Forevermore Legacy - a platform for securely storing and delivering messages to the future.
Think: videos, voice notes, and written messages that reach the people who matter most - at exactly the right moment, even if you’re no longer here.
We’re looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to build the first version of the product alongside the founder - owning architecture, development, and key technical decisions.
This is a 0→1 build, equity-based, and ideal for someone who wants to create something meaningful - not just ship features.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the end-to-end development of the Forevermore Legacy platform (frontend + backend) from 0→1
Design and build a secure, scalable architecture for storing and delivering sensitive user content (video, audio, text)
Make key decisions around tech stack, infrastructure, and system design
Implement core product features including:
User authentication and account management
Secure message storage and encryption workflows
Scheduled and conditional message delivery systems
Work closely with the founder to shape product direction, UX, and feature priorities
Set up and manage cloud infrastructure, databases, and deployment pipelines
Establish best practices for code quality, security, and performance
Help define the technical roadmap as the product evolves
What We’re Looking For:
Strong experience as a full-stack developer (React, Node.js, or similar modern stack)
Ability to design and build systems from scratch - not just contribute to existing codebases
Solid understanding of backend architecture, databases, and APIs
Experience (or strong interest) in building secure systems - authentication, data protection, encryption best practices
Comfortable working in an early-stage, unstructured environment with a high degree of ownership
Ability to make independent technical decisions and move quickly without heavy oversight
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) and deploying production applications
Strong problem-solving skills and a builder mindset
Bonus (Nice to Have)
Experience with encryption, secure storage, or privacy-focused applications
Experience building media-heavy applications (video/audio handling, storage, streaming)
Familiarity with scheduled jobs / event-based systems (e.g., queues, cron, background workers)
Experience integrating payments/subscriptions (Stripe or similar)
Previous startup or founding engineer experience
This role offers a combination of salary and meaningful equity as part of a founding team.
Salary will be below large-company market rates, reflecting the early stage of the company, with equity structured to provide significant long-term upside.
