What You'll Be Responsible For
- Oversee key accounting and finance functions
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, accruals, AP and AR
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Prepare and review U.S. sales tax reconciliations
- Oversee HST and government filings and remittances
- Support financial and tax audits
- Assist with consolidation and reporting for U.S.-based operations
- Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. GAAP
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Review and authorize payments in accordance with established procedures
- Support corporate tax, compliance, and legal entity requirements
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership
- Help oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Currently pursuing or working toward a Canadian CPA designation
- Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and analytical skills
- Experience with U.S. sales tax and/or U.S.-based entities is an asset
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. GAAP
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains is strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills - intermediate to advanced
- Excellent problem-solving and investigative abilities
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
