Position: Cinematography & Video Editing Internship (Unpaid - 3 days/week, flexible schedule)
Duration: Approximately three months
Reports to: Tara: Director at Futura
Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario; in-person preparation and on-location filming

About the opportunity
Futura Sound is developing an original reality series for YouTube following DJ and music producer as she rebuilds her home and embarks on a personal and creative comeback. The series begins with the ongoing renovation and soundproofing of her Toronto home, capturing the construction as it happens, from daily progress and unexpected setbacks to spontaneous conversations, humour and small victories.
As the space transforms into a home where she can create music, other parts of her life and career gradually unfold. We are seeking creative students interested in cinematography, editing and authentic storytelling to help document this journey and create content for YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Futura Sound is the music and entertainment division of Futura Investment and Development Inc., working across music production, artist development, events and digital content.
Equipment Available
Production equipment includes two Sony FX3 cameras, Sony G Master lenses, a DJI RS 4 Pro Combo gimbal, DJI Mavic 4 Pro Drone, Sony TOUGH 960GB CFexpress Type A cards, filters, monopods, tripods, storage drives and lighting accessories. Personal camera ownership is not required. Equipment use will depend on training and supervisor approval.

Our work includes music production, artist development, live events and visual storytelling through music videos, multi-camera productions and marketing content.
Cinematography & Video Editing Intern will:
· Help film renovation progress, interviews, conversations and behind-the-scenes moments.
· Edit footage into engaging scenes, YouTube content and vertical social media clips.
· Practise camera setup, framing, lighting and sound-recording techniques.
· Develop story ideas and rough edits, adding captions, music, basic colour correction and audio adjustments.
· Organize footage and project files, follow backup procedures and incorporate creative feedback.
· Ability to assist in motion graphics and animation design is a plus.
· Prepare rough drafts, storyboards, and video concepts.
· Ensure timely delivery of high-quality video projects.
What we are looking for:
· A passion in cinematography, video editing and character-driven storytelling.
· Familiarity with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar software.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Relative knowledge with camera equipment, lighting, and sound recording. motion graphics experience is a plus.
· Reliability, organization, clear communication and a willingness to learn.
· Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to fast-moving projects.
· Ability to take direction, remain open to feedback, and re-edit to ensure the job is done right.
