Landscaping Foreman/Woman – Irrigation (NOC 82031)
Garden City Tree & Landscape Ltd. is seeking 2 (two) motivated Landscaping Foreman/Women -Irrigation (NOC 82031) to join our team.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in quality work, are customer-oriented and have strong experience in the landscaping and horticulture industry, combined with strong technical knowledge and practical experience in irrigation systems.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide technical leadership in irrigation, oversee irrigation installations and repairs, troubleshoot systems, interpret irrigation plans and provide training and guidance to other employees. A strong foundational knowledge of irrigation is therefore required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily activities, coordinate with team members and maintain quality and productivity across all phases of landscape construction, installation and irrigation projects.
- Plan, lead and execute the installation of hardscape, softscape and irrigation systems, ensuring project success and adherence to plans, specifications and company standards.
- Prepare irrigation layouts and as-built drawings for small residential and commercial projects using Provide information to Estimators and support the quoting and bidding process for commercial and residential irrigation projects and service work, including scope development, site information, labour, materials, and pricing.
- Review commercial blueprints or schematic diagrams to coordinate the proper construction and installation of irrigation lines, control valves, and landscape fixtures.
- Coordinate materials, labour, equipment and other resources on-site to ensure the timely completion of landscape and irrigation projects within budget.
- Train crew members in landscaping and irrigation techniques, equipment operation, safe work practices and safety protocols.
- Utilize LMN Time mobile application to monitor daily tasks, track crew hours, log job site progress, and input daily material usage reports.
- Inspect and supervise crew work to ensure it meets high-quality standards and aligns with project plans and specifications.
- Address any deficiencies promptly to prevent production delays and maintain excellence in project delivery.
- Conduct performance assessments and coach employees to enhance skills and drive improvement. Support and guide the team through open communication.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce safe work practices on the job site in accordance with the company's health and safety program.
- Conduct site assessments, lead toolbox meetings with the crew, and investigate and report incidents as required.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on irrigation installations, system operation, troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring work is completed according to project specifications and industry best practices.
- Oversee irrigation system setup and adjustments, including mainlines, manifolds, valves, sprinkler systems and irrigation controllers, and assist with diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Provide technical direction and training to crew members on irrigation installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and best practices.
- Update management regarding project progress, irrigation-related issues, customer interactions and other site concerns.
- Address customer needs and concerns on-site and ensure a high-quality client experience through professional interactions and problem-solving.
- Assist other divisions and carry out additional duties as directed by management.
- May have to perform the same duties as the crew members supervised, when required.
- May provide snow removal services during winter months.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in landscaping, irrigation installation and maintenance.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or crew lead role within the landscaping or irrigation industry.
- Certified Irrigation Technician Level 1 (CIT Level 1) required; CIT Level 2 is an asset.
- Strong technical knowledge of irrigation installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of irrigation design, sprinkler systems, mainlines, manifolds, valves and irrigation controllers, including smart/Wi-Fi systems.
- Ability to prepare as-builts, read, and interpret commercial landscape and irrigation plans using relevant software such as Bluebeam, CAD, or other industry-standard programs.
- Working knowledge of landscape construction, including hardscape and softscape installation.
- Backflow Assembly Tester certification is an asset.
- Valid class 5 driver's licence
- First Aid certification.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with landscape management software, such as LMN or equivalent, for daily scheduling, time tracking, digital timesheets, job costing, and project management is an asset.
- Proficiency with tablets, Microsoft 365, email, safety management platforms, digital forms, and other technology and software used in daily operations.
Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, walk-behind machinery, trenchers, or other landscape-related equipment is an asset.

Regular: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Seasonal Hours (May–September): Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
