Original job description

Be the one building AI-powered experiences where they matter most

At Genesys, we help organizations create better customer experiences through AI-powered experience orchestration. Our platform connects people, systems, data and AI to help organizations deliver more personalized service, improve operational efficiency and build stronger customer relationships.

Help build, support and operate technology used by more than 8,000 organizations in over 100 countries – moving AI from possibility to production in real-world enterprise environments every day.

Role Overview:
Build Workforce Management capabilities that help organizations plan, manage, and support their workforce while improving the experiences they deliver to customers. As an Associate Software Developer within the Genesys Workforce Engagement Management (WEM) portfolio, you will contribute across the full stack, building scalable backend services with Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS Lambda, and cloud technologies, alongside intuitive frontend experiences using TypeScript, Vue.js, HTML, and CSS/LESS.

You will work with experienced engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners to turn product needs into reliable software used in enterprise environments. AI-assisted development tools will be part of your engineering workflow, helping you accelerate learning, improve productivity, troubleshoot problems, and deliver high-quality software responsibly.

Your work will directly influence the reliability, usability, performance, and scalability of Workforce Management experiences. You will gain hands-on exposure to cloud-native and serverless architecture, AI-enabled engineering practices, full-stack development, and enterprise software at global scale, building technical depth and increasing ownership as your experience grows.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop full-stack Workforce Management capabilities that improve how enterprise customers plan, manage, and support their workforces
Build reliable and scalable backend services and APIs using Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS Lambda, and related cloud technologies
Create intuitive, accessible, and responsive user experiences using TypeScript, Vue.js, HTML, and CSS/LESS
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners to translate customer and product needs into high-quality software
Deliver clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that strengthens product quality and supports the long-term evolution of the WEM platform
Resolve software defects across the full technology stack using monitoring, debugging, and root-cause analysis to improve service reliability and customer experience
Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, automated testing, and continuous improvement while expanding your engineering judgment through collaboration with experienced team members
Strengthen the performance, security, reliability, and scalability of WEM capabilities used in enterprise customer environments

Required Qualifications:

0 to 2 years of professional software development experience, including internships, co-op placements, or equivalent practical experience
Foundational experience with object-oriented programming and modern software development principles
Experience with, or demonstrated ability to learn, backend development using Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, or similar technologies
Experience with frontend development using JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern framework such as Vue.js, React, or Angular
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, including responsive and accessible user interface development
Familiarity with cloud technologies and services, preferably AWS, including serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda
Understanding of software engineering practices including version control, automated testing, code reviews, debugging, and continuous integration
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and an interest in using AI responsibly to support software development, learning, problem-solving, and productivity
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional software development team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience gained through a software development internship, co-op placement, academic project, open-source contribution, or professional role
Familiarity with Kotlin, Spring Boot, Vue.js, TypeScript, or comparable full-stack technologies
Exposure to AWS or another major cloud platform, with an interest in cloud-native and serverless software development
Experience using AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, debugging, learning, or other software engineering activities

Benefits That Support You:
We invest in your well-being, because when you’re at your best, so are the experiences you create.

Comprehensive extended group health coverage
Generous paid time off, including vacation and personal leave
Retirement savings program with employer RRSP matching up to a prescribed maximum amount
Family-friendly benefits, including parental leave top-up and adoption assistance
Growth and development opportunities through access to learning resources and internal mobility programs

Exact details of these programs, including the conditions for eligibility, the amount of the benefit (including caps on benefits and customary pricing details), the length of the paid time off, etc. will be provided upon hire and is subject to Genesys policies.

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
