Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Hydraulic Cylinder Technician to join our industrial service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and testing hydraulic cylinders. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, thrives in a fast-paced shop environment, and delivers exceptional service to our customers.
Job Duties
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and inspect hydraulic cylinders to determine root causes of failure.
- Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble hydraulic cylinders and related components.
- Perform pressure and operational testing to ensure repairs meet strict quality and safety standards.
- Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair needs and provide status updates.
- Use basic computer systems to log work orders, track parts, and document service histories.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience working in an industrial service shop environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in hydraulic systems and cylinder repair.
- Proficient in troubleshooting, servicing, and testing hydraulic components.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and digital service logging.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional, solution-oriented attitude.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper tool utilization.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, lift up to 75 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods in a shop environment.
- Neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, reaching and lifting, ladder climb and carrying, crawling.
- Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise levels may be loud at times.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
Compensation
$27.84 - 37.32 (hourly)
Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Motion, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
