The Executive and Clinical Doctor of Nursing Practice programs at the Georgetown University Berkley School of Nursing are designed for nurses who aspire to lead transformational change in practice and healthcare systems and through influencing health policy. These programs feature a distance-based, hybrid format, with on-campus visits to immerse students in all that Georgetown and Washington, DC have to offer.
The Executive DNP in Health Systems Leadership and Policy is designed for nurses who hold a master's or doctoral degree in nursing or a related discipline, and who wish to accelerate their academic and professional development through the attainment of advanced competencies in leadership, advocacy, and evidence translation. Along with expert full-time academic educators, the unique Nurse Executives in Residence Program provides students with unparalleled access to the foremost nurse leaders in health systems, governance, and professional associations, who also serve on the Executive DNP faculty. Educational experiences with leaders who are directly shaping and influencing policy in our nation's capital are a hallmark of this program.
Georgetown also offers a clinically-focused DNP program that is available in four specialization areas for nurses who aim to become Certified Nurse Midwives, Women's Health Nurse Practitioners, Family Nurse Practitioners, or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioners. This program is designed for nurses who hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or who have completed a master's entry in nursing program and hold RN licensure.
