Job SummaryIn this multi-functional role, you will have a national mandate to be engaged in a variety of initiatives designed to support our partners across the credit centers in Markham, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal, and Vancouver. Working closely with the Manager, Learning Program Design, you will conduct needs analysis, recommend, and develop learning solutions as part of a team of three L&D professionals collaborating with different departments.
Key Responsibilities- Design high quality, multi-approach blended learning and performance solutions on a variety of learning programs that support business strategic priorities, enable people strategies, and impact key business measures.
- Build solid relationships with partners to ensure open communication, via active participation in meetings/working sessions to ensure credit risk interests are being effectively managed.
- Act as a subject matter expert with both practical and technical expertise in all areas of content design and development, applying adult learning principles and leading industry best practices.
- Lead out on project scoping and planning, setting the standards for the learner experience that will enable learning objectives to be satisfied.
- Ensure learner accessibility and principles of diversity and inclusion in developing a variety of online learning solutions (i.e., eBooks, graphic rich deliverables, eLearning/simulation, online performance support tools, etc.) leveraging established standards and templates where possible.
- Collaborate with business and functional partners to attain a good understanding of project, program, and curriculum needs.
- Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest.
- Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge/expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
- Keep current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques; participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within the team.
- Keep others informed and up to date about the status/progress of projects and/or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities.
- Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities; provide training, coaching, and/or guidance as appropriate; contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.
Required Skills- 5 years of experience in Instructional Design
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and eLearning authoring tools such as Storyline 360 and Rise 360, as well as video development tools such as Powtoon
- Previous experience developing presentation and communication materials for senior management at all levels
- Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- A strong focus on attention to detail to produce high quality, accurate, and timely deliverables to meet deadlines
- Ability to solve problems, influence, and negotiate to deliver results
Preferred Skills- Proven experience in instructional design, preferably in a Financial Institution, is an asset
Education Requirements- Bachelor's degree or Advanced Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Educational Technology, or a related field
Required Experience- 5–7 years of experience in Learning and Design
- Strong track record of developing engaging learning solutions and communication materials for diverse audiences, including senior leadership
- Strong project management and organizational skills enabling management of multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and independent work while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities to drive successful outcomes
Nice-to-Have Experience- Experience within a financial institution is considered a strong asset
