Golf Ontario is currently seeking interested individuals to serve on the Board of Directors for a three-year term commencing February 2027.
If you have a strong passion for the sport of golf and believe that it can contribute to building healthy communities, we would like to hear from you.
One area of interest is entrepreneurial ownership and business leadership. We are seeking individuals who have led businesses or significant enterprises and who bring broad business leadership experience to the Board table. Candidates may have founded, owned, acquired, grown, transformed, or successfully exited an organization. Others may have held senior leadership roles with enterprise-wide accountability for organizational strategy, business performance, customer value, people leadership, and long-term growth. We are seeking leaders who understand how organizations create value, compete, adapt, and succeed in dynamic environments.
The second area of interest is fundraising, sponsorship and revenue generation. Candidates may have experience securing corporate sponsorships, cultivating donor relationships, developing strategic partnerships, advising on major fundraising initiatives, or identifying new sources of sustainable revenue. Experience working with governments, foundations, private organizations, or family offices would be considered an asset.

We are committed to building trusting relationships with our facilities and our golf partners so that together we can expand participation opportunities not only for current players but also for those who have never had the opportunity to play the game.
The role of a Golf Ontario Board member is to act as a trustee, always serving the best interests of the organization with integrity and an open mind. The Board’s governance responsibilities are multi-faceted and include upholding our By-Law, policy oversight, developing and evaluating strategic priorities, monitoring financial performance, and approving annual budgets.
The Board currently consists of 11 directors serving staggered three-year terms, with an option to extend for a second three-year term. We will welcome two (2) new directors in 2027. In-person Board meetings are hosted quarterly (travel and accommodation reimbursement provided), while quarterly Board committee and work group meetings are held virtually.
