About GovAI
GovAI is the work platform for local government. Staff at cities, counties, and special districts sit in it every day to finish real work: council agendas and packets, records and FOIA requests, staff reports, HR policy questions, permits. AI does the heavy lifting, with guardrails and an audit trail built in, so a clerk gets value without having to be an AI expert.
Local governments are being asked to do more with fewer people. That is the problem we work on. We partner with organizations across North America to put AI into the workflows where it can actually give staff time back. And we stay involved after launch: working department by department, training people on their real work, and refining the rollout until GovAI becomes part of how the organization gets things done.
The Role
The Integrated Marketing Specialist plans and runs GovAI’s campaigns. You decide who we’re trying to reach, build the campaign, launch it across email, events, web, and social, and report on what it produced. Our buyers are city clerks, county IT directors, and department heads, so you put campaigns in the places they already read, attend, and open.
You’ll work closely with our Product Marketing Specialist. They decide what we say about the product. You decide how, where, and when it reaches people. Then you look at what each campaign brought in, such as registrations, replies, and meetings booked, and put more time and budget into what’s working.
What You'll Do
- Plan and run campaigns. Pick the audience, the message, and the channels. Set a goal before launch, run the campaign, and report on what it produced.
- Write and produce what each campaign needs. Emails, blog posts, customer stories, newsletters, social posts, webinar decks, and short videos. Plain language a deputy city manager would read to the end.
- Write and produce content. Blog posts, customer stories, newsletters, social posts, webinar decks, short videos. Plain language a deputy city manager would actually read to the end.
- Plan and run campaigns. Pick the audience, the message, and the channels, then launch it and keep it running. A campaign might be an email series to county clerks, a webinar for IT directors, or a push around a product launch.
- Keep our channels in good shape. Website pages, email lists, social accounts, and the content library our sales team pulls from. You notice when something is out of date and fix it.
- Turn product news into campaigns. Work with product marketing on launches. They set the story. You build the emails, posts, pages, and events that get it out.
- Measure what happened. Track opens, registrations, replies, meetings booked, and pipeline. Share what you learned and change the next campaign based on it.
- Collect customer stories. Talk to customers and our customer success team to find the clerk who got hours back, or the department that finally cleared its records backlog. Get the story approved and get it out.
- Figure out how we build with agents. Decide which content and campaign jobs a person should do, which jobs an agent should do, and set that up on this team.
What We're Looking For
We care more about how you
think than how many years you have done this. Show us the mindset and we will help you develop the craft.
- Clear writing. You can explain something complicated in short, ordinary sentences, and you can write the same idea three ways for an email, a post, and a slide.
- Range. You're comfortable jumping between writing, planning an event, editing a page, and reading a report in the same week.
- Follow-through. Campaigns have a lot of small parts. You keep track of them and get them out the door on the date you said.
- A sense of urgency. You would rather ship a good version this week than a perfect one next quarter.
- Detail orientation. Broken link, wrong date on an invite, typo in a subject line: you catch it before it goes out.
- Comfort with numbers. You don't need to be an analyst. You do need to look at results, say what worked, and change the plan.
- Resilience. Emails flop, events get low turnout, posts go nowhere. You take the note and go again.
- Creativity with a point. You come up with ideas that get us noticed by the people who matter to us, and you can say why an idea should work.
- Curiosity about local government. You want to know what a clerk's week looks like and what a city manager worries about, because that's what makes the content land.
- Curiosity about AI. You use AI tools in your own work and want to know what they can and can't do yet.
Who This Is For
You might be early in your career, or you might have spent years in another field and want to do something different. Both work here.
We hire from marketing, communications, journalism, events, public administration, and more. What matters is that you can write, keep a lot of pieces on track, and follow a problem to the end. If you are switching careers, or coming from another marketing role, tell us what you are bringing with you.
Why Work At GovAI?
We keep a beginner's mentality on purpose. This is a company where you can say you do not know something and ask a direct question in a meeting. Nobody here has done this before, because the product and the market are both new.
What gets appreciated is the courage to act. Make the call, make it visible, and let the results teach us. We would rather you make a bold decision and be wrong out loud than wait for permission.
We value flexibility, career development, and collaborating in a mission-driven environment.
Compensation
The base salary for this role starts at
$60,000 - $80,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
Don't Meet Every Requirement?
We strongly encourage you to still apply. At GovAI, we value diverse experiences and believe great people grow into roles. If you’re excited about the opportunity and believe you can make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.
