Qulliq Energy Corporation
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is entrusted to provide safe, reliable power to all customers in Nunavut. Owned by the Government of Nunavut and operated as an arms-length territorial corporation, QEC is the sole provider of electricity and district heating in Nunavut. In comparison to other utilities in Canada, QEC faces unique challenges as it operates 25 stand-alone diesel power generation facilities and distribution systems located in each of the territory’s communities.
Facilities Administration Officer – two-year term (QEC 26-031)
Iqaluit, Nunavut
The Facilities Administrative Officer reports directly to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operation of the Facilities division.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Receives and verifies invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
- Verifies that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
- Prepares, verifies, and processes invoices and codes payment documents.
- Prepares batches of invoices for signature and data entry.
- Processes backup reports after data entry.
- Interacts with tenants, landlords and vendors through email, phone and in-person.
- Investigates and assists in resolving tenant, landlords and vendors concerns.
- Creates lease and renewal documents and invoices tenants accordingly.
- Enters work orders/service requests
- Organizes tenant/landlord files ensuring they are filed both in hard and electronic form.
- Ensures files are securely stored.
- Organizes and maintains Facilities keying system.
- Other closely related job duties
Required Qualifications Include
- Completion of high school education
- Post secondary education in office or business administration is an asset.
- One (1) year office administration experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable, and one (1) year experience in property management and/or facilities coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers in a courteous and positive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts, the public, and work as part of a team with colleagues and supervisors.
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $88,857.60 to $100,110.40 and a northern living allowance of $16,328.00 per annum. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension program. In addition, subsidized housing is available for this position. This position is included in the Nunavut Employee’s Union.

Preference will be given to Nunavut Inuit.
