Position Overview
The IT Director will work with the IT Director and CFO to understand the organization framework to be able to replace the IT Director upon his retirement in early 2027.
This role supports Greenstone Meats’ technology vision, managing infrastructure, building security and application support teams, and developing budgets to align IT with business goals. Oversees strategy, policy, and implementation for systems, networks, software, and digital initiatives while ensuring security and efficiency. Translates business needs into tech solutions, manages staff, vendors, and budgets, and reports to executive leadership, ensuring smooth operations and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement IT strategies, goals, and policies aligned with business and organizational objectives including technology roadmaps, digital transformation initiatives, and emerging technology adoption.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily IT operations, including networks, systems, hardware, and software and security to deliver smooth performance and minimal downtime.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and lead IT staff, including hiring, goal setting, KPI implementation, performance management and evaluation fostering collaboration and professional development. Lead, manage and integrate the team to work collaboratively with the business to meet IT and common business goals. Leads by example embracing our core values, policies and procedures.
- Security & Risk: Identify vulnerabilities, implement security measures, and manage disaster recovery plans ensuring data security, network protection and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Budgeting: Prepare IT budgets, forecasts, and report on performance.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with external tech vendors to ensure cost efficient and effective operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments to understand needs and provide and optimize solutions.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Monitor emerging technologies, recommend improvements and implement best practices to enhance business operations.
Essential Skills
- Strong leadership & management to lead, coach and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering accountability, collaboration and growth.
- Deep technical knowledge (IT infrastructure, networks, software systems, cloud computing, cyber-security and enterprise applications).
- Strategic planning & problem-solving.
- Budgeting & financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to partner cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong alignment and execution.
Qualifications & Leadership Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT management experience, including help desk, computer networks, network administration, network installation, telephony and security.
- Knowledge, skills, and expertise around computer troubleshooting, computer viruses and security, mobile systems, network administration and applications security, Microsoft 365 and ERP systems (preferably Microsoft D365).
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and benchmarking state-of-the-art IT practices
- Experienced in a manufacturing & distribution work environment that spans multiple geographies and time zones
- Able to effectively handle the high stress, time and travel demands that come with responsibility as the Senior Information Technology leader for Greenstone Meats operations in North America. This includes flexibility around work hours to accommodate internal and external client needs spanning multiple time-zones and geographies
- Pragmatic, agile and a people-first leader who coaches, enables, and removes obstacles for the team.
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable, fit-for-purpose IT and operational processes that balance structure with flexibility.
- Experience establishing KPIs and dashboards, supporting the maturation of performance management across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to move seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on operational execution, with strength and credibility in both.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with a track record of aligning stakeholders across teams and departments to plan, prioritize, and execute initiatives effectively.

Salary range: $180,000 - $215,000
