Role Description The Sales Manager role at Groomingdale’s Petvalu is a full-time, on-site position located in Lac La Biche, AB. In this role, the Sales Manager oversees daily store sales operations, including supervising sales associates, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring merchandising standards are met. The position is responsible for setting and tracking sales targets, analyzing performance reports, and implementing strategies to increase revenue and customer retention. The Sales Manager works closely with customers to understand their needs, resolve issues, and promote appropriate products and services. Additional responsibilities include coordinating staff schedules, supporting training and performance coaching, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and collaborating with leadership on local marketing or community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in retail or sales management, including supervising teams and managing day-to-day store operations.
- Strong skills in customer service, relationship building, and conflict resolution, with the ability to support a positive in-store experience.
- Ability to plan and achieve sales targets, interpret sales data, and implement basic sales and merchandising strategies.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including scheduling, task prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Comfort working with point-of-sale systems, basic office software, and inventory tracking tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with diverse customers.
- Interest in or experience with animal care, pet products, or ranching environments is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, retail management, or a related field is an advantage.
