Role Description The Human Resources Director will lead the HR function and serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, aligning people practices with business objectives across the organization. This full-time, on-site role, based in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area, includes overseeing HR policies, workforce planning, and organizational development to support a high-performing and inclusive workplace. Day-to-day responsibilities involve managing employee relations, guiding performance management processes, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws. The Human Resources Director will design and implement talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies, as well as compensation, benefits, and training programs. The role also involves coaching managers, resolving complex HR issues, monitoring HR metrics, and driving continuous improvement in HR practices and employee experience.
Qualifications
- Strong Human Resources (HR) leadership experience, including strategic planning and HR operations management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain clear and compliant HR Policies aligned with organizational goals.
- Proven expertise in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, employee engagement, and maintaining a respectful workplace.
- Solid background in Performance Management, including goal-setting frameworks, feedback processes, and development planning.
- In-depth knowledge of Labor and Employment Law relevant to Quebec and Canadian jurisdictions, with experience interpreting and applying regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field; advanced certification (e.g., CHRP/CPHR) is an asset.
- Experience in professional services, engineering, construction, or real estate sectors is beneficial.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office tools; experience using data and HR metrics to inform decisions.
- Ability to operate on-site in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area and to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
