Role Description The Coach Development Manager is a full-time role responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating coach education and development initiatives across all club programs. This hybrid position is based in Guelph, ON, with a combination of on-site work at fields and facilities and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing coach development pathways, organizing clinics and workshops, mentoring and supporting coaches, and ensuring alignment with club philosophies and national standards. The role also involves assessing coach performance, providing constructive feedback, maintaining coaching resources and curriculum, and collaborating with technical staff and administrators to meet program objectives. The Coach Development Manager will contribute to a positive, inclusive environment, uphold safeguarding standards, and help foster long-term player and coach development within
the club.Qualifications
- Coaching leadership skills, with experience mentoring, training, and supporting youth soccer coaches in a club or community setting.
- Strong program planning and organizational skills to design coach development pathways, schedule clinics, and manage multiple initiatives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with coaches, staff, players, and caregivers and to deliver clear instruction and feedback.
- Knowledge of youth soccer development principles, Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) models, and current coaching best practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, safety, and safeguarding, including creating respectful environments for participants of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-field presence in Guelph, ON with remote administrative and planning tasks.
- Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., provincial or national licenses) and prior experience in a technical or coaching coordinator role are considered strong assets.
- Proficiency with common office software and digital tools for scheduling, communication, and tracking coach development activities.
