Job Description
Reporting to the Manager of Sales, Marketing and BD, the Technical Salesperson is experienced in Industrial Electrical Power and Control Products and support services. In this role you will support B2B and handle technical transactions over phone and email using your expertise on Industrial Sales, CAD Design, Power and Automation Control.
You will develop new clients and nurture current client relationships by your professional, timely, proactive and resourceful nature. Time management skills are key, producing standard product quotes upon reception while working on larger project quotes over time. You will be a self starter team player, driven by your desire for success and excitement of the industry.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer communications in many formats including phones, emails, meetings and site visits
- Prepare quotes from drawings and specifications to produce material take-offs and labour estimates.
- Produce quotes based on our growing line of standardized products and configurable solutions
- Work with our technical staff to develop solutions and prepare quotes for customers who do not supply us with drawings or BOM, only a concept.
- Maintain regular contact with Customers to strengthen relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Help foster and grow business relationships to identify new business opportunities - including new markets, new products, new customers, products and services, or new ways of reaching existing markets that enable the Company to position itself in appropriate markets.
- Encourage and help grow the relationship with Guillevin branches at all levels and locations
- Help coordinate price packages with suppliers when corporate agreements are not already in place
- Encourage and grow our supplier relationships with friendly collaboration
- Participate in tender reviews and hand-offs with Project Managers.
- Attend weekly sales meetings intended to help standardization, communications and internal training
- Work with other departments to assure customers have proper terms and accounts
- Work closely with Guillevin, IAG, Dracon, Schneider and other members of our success team
- Help arrange in house training and sales sessions for customers.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years past industry sales experience (or 2+ industry experience and 2+ in industry sales)
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings and general specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Moderate understanding of electrical theory and related codes (High level is an asset)
- General computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and professional
- Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer relations skills
