About the Role
We are currently seeking a Manager/Senior Manager Risk to join our team. The Manager / Senior Manager, Risk Control Function (2nd line of defense) is responsible for supporting and enhancing the Bank’s enterprise risk management framework through effective oversight, challenge, governance, and reporting.
The role partners with business units (1st line of defense) and senior stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor, and report on risks while supporting compliance with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development of the Bank’s risk management capabilities across difference risk classes including operational risk, resilience, governance, internal controls, and enterprise risk programs.
Compensation
Expected Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 per year.
Compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications and falls within the expected range for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance risk management frameworks, policies, standards, methodologies, and supporting documentation.
- Oversee and challenge risk assessments, risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs), control reviews, and other risk evaluation activities.
- Oversee, monitor, analyze, and provide reporting on key risk indicators (KRIs), risk appetite metrics, emerging risks, and material risk exposures.
- Prepare clear and insightful reporting for senior management, governance forums, and Board-level stakeholders.
- Support the implementation, interpretation, and ongoing monitoring of regulatory requirements and industry guidance.
- Provide independent oversight and challenge over business, operational, technology, and regulatory change initiatives, including change risk assessments.
- Support operational resilience, business continuity, crisis management, business impact analysis, scenario testing, and recovery planning activities.
- Oversee risk event reporting, issue management, root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and remediation tracking.
- Support the design and enhancement of internal control frameworks and control effectiveness monitoring.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk appetite frameworks, risk taxonomies, governance processes, and reporting methodologies.
- Support organizational risk culture initiatives and promote strong risk awareness across the business.
- Assist with model risk management, regulatory change management, and other enterprise risk programs as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve risk processes, governance, reporting, data quality, and overall risk maturity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, governance, or related functions within financial services in Canada.
- Experience developing risk reports, dashboards, policies, frameworks, and management presentations.
- Strong understanding of risk management, specifically operational risk management, internal controls, governance, and regulatory expectations.
- Excellent analytical, written communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications such as CRM, FRM, PRM, CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA, CBCP, or equivalent are considered an asset.
