Role Description The Business Development Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in North York, ON. This position focuses on expanding HabitAa’s presence among building owners, developers, property managers, architects, engineers, and related stakeholders across Canada. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, conducting outreach and follow-ups, leading product demos, and building long-term client relationships. The role involves collaborating with marketing and product teams to refine messaging, provide feedback from the field, and support go-to-market initiatives. The Business Development Lead will also track pipeline activity, prepare proposals, contribute to contract negotiations, and represent HabitAa at industry events, meetings, and presentations.
Qualifications
- Strong Lead Generation and Market Research skills to identify, qualify, and prioritize new business opportunities.
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to build relationships, deliver clear presentations, and support clients throughout the sales cycle.
- Robust Analytical Skills to interpret building performance insights, understand client needs, and develop data-informed business proposals.
- Experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within proptech, energy efficiency, building performance, or related sectors.
- Ability to work on-site in North York, ON, and travel locally for client meetings and industry events as needed.
- Comfort with CRM tools and sales pipelines, including documenting activities and preparing regular reports.
- Post-secondary education in business, engineering, environmental studies, or a related field is an asset.
- Knowledge of building energy systems, retrofits, or incentive programs (e.g., CMHC MLI Select) is considered an advantage.
