The Halton Multicultural Council (branding as HMC Connections) has a wonderful 48 year history of serving newcomers in our community. Our mission is to help newcomers settle and integrate into a community that is more welcoming and inclusive.
We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our Board of Directors. - Attend HMC functions (Multiculturalism Day, New Years Around the World, AGM and other special events);
- Be prepared – all materials read in advance;
- Are familiar with organizations bylaws and governing policies (orientation provided and a board governance course will be require – approximately 3 hours online);
- Express your views at meetings and encourage others to do the same;
- Promote the work of the organization in the community whenever you have a chance to do so; and
