The Medical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for processing, embedding, cutting thick and thin sections, staining thick and thin sections, obtaining images using the electron microscope and managing the image files pertaining to electron microscopy cases. his role requires meticulous attention to ultrastructural detail. The candidate may be asked to perform a practical test or tests to assess their technical abilities.
- Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technologist certification program(Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences)
- Current (minimum 3 years) experience in all aspects of Electron Microscopy
- Knowledge of the Meditech Laboratory Information system would be an asset
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence, as well as contributing to the education and development of students, residents and co-workers
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills; including error identification, troubleshooting, resolution and follow-up
- Computer skills including Epic and Microsoft office applications
- Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills
