Duties
The successful candidate will become an integral part of the day to day design activities at HEC. Under the direction of senior design staff, they will aid in the structural design of bridge, marine and construction engineering projects. With proper direction, they will be involved in all aspects of projects ranging from initial concept straight through to implementation. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in the design of steel, concrete and timber structures; as well as cutting edge structural analysis and all pertinent design codes. The position will also involve day to day exposure to construction industry practices such as shop drawing reviews, design alternates and other related construction issues.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelor of Civil Engineering program.
- The successful candidate shall have a strong desire to expand their knowledge in structural analysis and design.
- They must be highly self-motivated and capable of completing tasks on schedule with limited supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are desired.
- Working knowledge of S-Frame and Excel are considered a valuable asset.
- Previous experience in any construction or engineering related environment would be beneficial.

Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
