About the Role
We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to design, develop, test, and debug embedded firmware for pluggable optical transceiver modules within our Optical Engines organization.
You’ll work closely with Hardware, Optical, and Test Engineering teams to develop production-grade firmware for next-generation optical networking products.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, test, and debug embedded firmware using C.
- Develop device drivers for ASICs, FPGAs, and other hardware components.
- Support hardware bring-up and participate in hardware design reviews.
- Work with Hardware, Optical, and Test teams throughout product development.
- Develop scripts and automation for firmware validation and testing.
- Develop interfaces for transceiver assemblies and modules.
- Support the development of manufacturing test fixtures.
- Troubleshoot firmware and hardware issues using tools such as oscilloscopes and schematics.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with embedded C programming.
- Experience with RTOS and ARM or other microcontrollers.
- Experience developing device drivers.
- Hands-on knowledge of UART, SPI, and I2C.
- Experience with hardware debugging, schematic reading, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with optical networking, OTN, or Gigabit Ethernet.
- Experience working with optical transceivers or telecommunications products.
- Experience with firmware test automation or manufacturing test.
