Position Overview
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll support, and month-end administration. Working closely with management and the finance team, this role plays an important part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting day-to-day business operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices, payments, deposits, and journal entries
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate general ledger records
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules
- Process payroll and related remittances where required
- Reconcile GST, PST, and other statutory accounts
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting activities
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
- Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Recent, hands-on Sage 50 Desktop experience is mandatory
- Demonstrated experience performing full-cycle bookkeeping within Sage 50
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and month-end procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
