We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Asset Management and modern cloud-based data platforms. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise-scale data solutions that enable advanced analytics, data-driven decision-making, and scalable data products. This role requires hands-on expertise in Snowflake, strong cloud engineering capabilities, and experience delivering end-to-end data solutions within investment or asset management environments.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Solution Design
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop high-performance data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Ensure data platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Platform & Cloud Engineering
- Leverage cloud-native technologies to build robust and highly available data ecosystems.
- Implement best practices for performance tuning, query optimization, and cost management within Snowflake.
- Partner with engineering teams to evaluate and implement emerging technologies and platform enhancements.
- Support automation, monitoring, and platform reliability initiatives.
Data Governance & DevOps
- Establish and maintain strong data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure automation practices.
- Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot issues, and proactively resolve platform bottlenecks.
- Drive continuous improvement across data engineering processes and delivery practices.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and product teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient technical solutions.
- Translate business needs into scalable data products and actionable insights.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members.
Required Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years of experience in Asset Management (mandatory).
- Proven hands-on experience working within the Asset Management or Investment Management domain.
- Strong expertise with Snowflake, including:
- Data Warehousing
- Query Optimization
- Performance Tuning
- Cost Governance
- 7+ years of experience delivering large-scale data engineering and analytics initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and exposure to Java or Scala.
- Experience building enterprise data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipelines.
- Expertise with data integration, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data orchestration tools.
- Experience with API design and microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture and data lifecycle management.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, EKS, Glue, Athena, Redshift, or similar cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Exposure to AI/ML-enabled data platforms and modern data stack technologies.
- Familiarity with Hadoop, Oracle, or other enterprise data ecosystems.
