- Client is seeking a talented Front-End Engineer to join its digital technology team and help build customer-facing applications that serve millions of Canadians.
- In this role, you will develop modern, responsive, and highly interactive web experiences across retail, eCommerce, loyalty, and digital platforms.
- You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and AI teams to deliver scalable solutions that enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Develop responsive, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Integrate front-end applications with backend APIs, microservices, and third-party platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and enhancements.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and front-end best practices.
- Support the development of AI-enabled experiences such as conversational interfaces, virtual assistants, or recommendation systems.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Front-End Development.
- Strong expertise in React.js and TypeScript.
- Experience building applications with Next.js.
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end development practices.
- Experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs and backend systems.
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or Context API.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building AI-powered applications, chatbots, copilots, or conversational interfaces.
- Exposure to OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, or similar AI technologies.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience working in large-scale retail or eCommerce environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time applications using WebSockets or streaming APIs.
- Familiarity with design systems and component libraries.
- Experience working with analytics, personalization, or loyalty platforms.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO best practices.
