Job Title: Internal Controls Specialist SOX
Location: Winnipeg Manitoba (Hybrid)
Duration: 3.5 Months
Rate: CAD80-CAD90/hr
Summary
Work alongside a consulting team assisting a client organization with an Internal Controls C-SOX to US SOX uplift initiative.
Role Deliverables
- Complete control walkthroughs and design assessments.
- Assist management with remediation activities.
- Document controls and processes.
- Perform evidence reviews and control testing.
Education / Work Experience
- Ideal candidate will hold a CPA designation and may also possess CIA and/or CISA certifications.
- 5+ years of experience in Internal Controls, preferably within US-listed SOX-compliant organizations or supporting US SOX clients through a public accounting or consulting environment.
Technical Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Experience with GRC platforms, particularly Workiva.
- Experience with AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, is considered an asset.
Other Skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to:
- Provide hands-on support to management in documenting controls.
- Conduct walkthroughs and assessments.
- Coach and advise management on internal control best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
