Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (flexibility available)
Location: North Vancouver, BC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid. First month fully onsite, then 2 days per week in office
Rate: $40-$45/hour
The Opportunity
An established and growing organisation is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a complex, multi-entity finance environment during a period of continued expansion. This contract opportunity is ideal for an accountant who thrives in high-volume environments and enjoys working beyond traditional month-end accounting.
This role has a strong focus on fixed assets, financial systems, process improvement, and data integrity. You will play a key role in helping the finance team optimise financial data flows, strengthen reporting processes, and improve how information moves through ERP systems into the General Ledger. The successful candidate will combine strong accounting expertise with an analytical mindset and a passion for improving business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and lifecycle management
- Review and improve financial data flows between ERP modules and the General Ledger
- Perform complex account reconciliations and variance analysis across multiple entities
- Ensure fixed asset processes comply with IFRS requirements and internal controls
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Investigate discrepancies between subledgers and General Ledger balances
- Partner with operational stakeholders to understand business activities and accounting impacts
- Analyze capital expenditures, budget proposals, and cost allocation methodologies
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy
- Support audit requests, financial analysis, and process documentation initiatives
- Leverage existing system functionality to improve automation and workflow efficiency
- Work with large data sets to identify trends, exceptions, and reporting opportunities
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience
- Strong understanding and practical application of IFRS
- Proven experience with fixed assets and asset accounting processes
- Extensive reconciliation and variance analysis experience
- Experience working in high-volume, transaction-heavy environments
- Strong understanding of intercompany accounting
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and large dataset analysis
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP
- Experience supporting multi-entity or multinational organisations
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA
- Background in process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
- Experience within complex operational, manufacturing, procurement, or supply chain environments
