This position is based at the company's Mississauga head office (Mississauga Road & Highway 401) and operates primarily onsite, with 10 work-from-home days available annually.
Your New Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, capital asset accounting, lease accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and business decision support activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the accounting and reporting of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, month-end accruals, and periodic asset reviews.
- Managing lease accounting activities, including recognition, amortization, interest calculations, forecasting, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Owning financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis relating to capital expenditures, capital assets, and leases.
- Preparing month-end journal entries, reconciliations, financial analyses, and supporting period-end close activities.
- Partnering with operational and functional leaders to provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations.
- Supporting internal audit initiatives and assisting with the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Assisting with Canadian corporate tax documentation, monthly sales tax filings, and tax reconciliations.
- Collaborating closely with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Preparing ad hoc financial analyses and executive-level reporting to support strategic decision-making.

What You'll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally possess:
- CPA designation or be in the final stages of completion.
- Progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial reporting, or corporate finance.
- Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Ideally posses hands on IFRS experience
- Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to process enhancement.
- Canadian work authorization and the ability to travel occasionally if required.
