Role and Facility Information
We are seeking a full time Trauma Physician to join the ARHCC Trauma Service working within the Fraser Health Trauma Network.
The Trauma Physician will serve as a Trauma Team Lead/Consultant for trauma team activations and consultations. They will be MRP for admitted patients while being on-call 24/7 for approximately 7 days every 2 months. The hours on-call consist of onsite daytime hours and home call within a travel time to hospital of 30min. They will join a team of 9 trauma physicians that is composed of emergency room physicians and surgeons.
The successful applicant must be willing to work as a team with all physician colleagues and allied medical professionals at ARHCC. Fellowship in Trauma and or Acute Care Surgery would be an asset but is not necessary. Emergency room physicians, intensivists, anesthesiologists and general surgeons with experience in trauma are welcome to apply.
ARHCC is a 275-bed regional hospital located in Abbotsford BC, Canada; it provides specialized services to the surrounding Fraser Valley East and is a Level 3 trauma centre. Additional services at ARHCC include Pediatrics, ICU/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, General & Interventional Radiology, Psychiatry, Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Orofacial Maxillary Surgery, Ophthalmology and Plastic Surgery. The hospital is co-located with a British Columbia Cancer Centre.
Abbotsford is a community nestled in the Fraser Valley approximately 40 minutes east of Vancouver. It is surrounded by the coastal mountains, lakes and rivers providing a lush backdrop and access to many outdoor recreational activities. Abbotsford has an excellent school district and is currently a very affordable community to live and raise a family.
