Hospital Description
Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) is currently under redevelopment with a planned Phase 1 completion in 2027! The CMH redevelopment project includes an addition to the existing hospital as well as renovations to the existing facility. The addition will add 25 in-patient beds for a total of 53, a new emergency department and mental-health unit.
Currently, CMH is a Level 2 Community Hospital in Williams Lake with 28 inpatient beds. CMH hospital offers ER, OR, Med-Surg, and Obstetrical units. Lab and diagnostic imaging and outpatient Hemodialysis Unit are operated on-site.

Comer Medical Clinic is a well established, collegial clinic. Working alongside 2 experienced family practice and specialist physicians. A competitive overhead, in clinic nurse support, in clinic peer mentoring, in house billing, with clinic hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:30pm.
In addition to your clinical work, there are numerous opportunities to build the practice of your dreams which could include maternity, long term care, oncology, palliative care, ER, and other areas of interest. The team support from the local surgeons, obstetricians, paediatrician, internists.
The Cariboo Memorial Hospital is currently going through a major redevelopment and expansion to modernize spaces and services. Four new surgical services have been added for local options for surgical needs. The surgical services program includes, General Surgery, OBGYN, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, and Ophthalmology. Our Primary Care planning has flowed over 4 million dollars in the system to support the primary care teams.
There is a wide variety of practice opportunities available to family physicians coming to the Cariboo. Williams Lake offers a wide variety of services, including Indigenous Health, Maternity, LTC, OAT, Paediatrics, ER, Anaesthesiology, Surgical assists, etc. The possibilities are endless to build your practice the way you want it.

Benefits and Incentives
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 12.32% Retention Flat Fee $19,092 Relocation Funding Available $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location Recruitment Incentive $15,000 Other Benefits/Incentives Rural CME: max of $ 4,840/year after 4 years in practice Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer. Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for loan forgiveness programs.
