Our brand has to show up in a lot of places: ads, YouTube, UGC, email, the blog, social, print, and the web. We're hiring a brand designer who works across graphic design, web, and motion graphics, with basic video editing on top, so everything looks and feels like Helcim wherever someone meets us. You'll report to Rodolfo, our Director of Design, and work directly with Marketing. Your job is to keep our visual output evolving.
What's hard about itYou'll switch between graphic, web, motion, and video work, and each has its own craft and its own deadlines. AI tools make fast output easy and good output hard, so a big part of the job is knowing when something is good enough to ship and when it needs another round. You'll also question the brief, propose ideas, build on other people's input, and explain your rationale well enough to move stakeholders.
- 5+ years in a design, brand, or creative role. You're a strong executor and a creative thinker with a great sensibility for design and aesthetics.
- Strong creative ideation skills. You question the brief, propose ideas, build on others' input, and explain your rationale well enough to move stakeholders. You're a strong marketing partner who talks about strategic outcomes, not just design.
- Advanced motion design skills. You work fluently in After Effects and can take a storyboard to finished animation. Your portfolio includes a motion reel.
- You can shoot and edit video for ads, UGC, and YouTube.
- You know Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite well.
- You use AI tools like Higgsfield to move faster, and you have a strong sense of judgement about what quality means when AI generates the output.
What you don't need- Payments or fintech experience.
- Illustration, 3D, or UI/UX experience. It's useful, and you can build it here.
- A degree in anything specific.
If something would make the interview process more accessible for you, tell us and we'll sort it out. We hire for range, because a team that thinks the same way solves problems the same way.
- Visual design. Ads, web, email, storyboards, print, social media, and more, all in the Helcim brand language.
- Concepting and storyboarding. Developing ideas with Marketing, sketching to make complex, abstract concepts easy to grasp, and joining conversations that go beyond design to focus on strategic outcomes.
- Motion design and video editing. Turning storyboards into finished motion in After Effects for ads, social, and web, and shooting and editing video for ads, UGC, YouTube content, and more.
- AI-assisted production. Using tools like Higgsfield to speed up the work, and deciding where AI output is good enough and where it isn't.
- DesignOps. Improving how the Design team works and keeping our internal digital asset library in order.
Helcim was founded with a mission at heart: to be the world’s most loved payment system. From the very start, we knew that we wanted to be different from every payment processor out there. We want the merchants we serve to feel supported and see us as a trusted partner rather than simply just another “cost of doing business.” We are relentless in our pursuit to provide a radically transparent and honest payments solution that flat out saves business owners money, all while treating them like human beings.
