Helio Urban Development is building two small apartment buildings, in Truro and North Kentville. We need an experienced site superintendent on contract to be our eyes on both sites.
**What you'll do** (one or two visits a week per site, about 2 days a week)- Walk and photograph each site, and file a short written report the same day.- Book and attend municipal inspections when our project manager confirms a stage is ready.- Confirm deliveries the day before, mark drop zones, receive materials just in time.- Check each trade's crew and progress against the schedule, and flag anything behind or unsafe.- Keep the site rules on neighbours, garbage and safety.
No ordering, and no approving changes or invoices. You report to our project manager.
**What you bring**- 10+ years on Nova Scotia residential or multi-unit sites, as a super, foreman or lead hand.- You read drawings and schedules, and spot when the site differs from them.- Your own vehicle, and a phone for photos and simple apps.- WCB Nova Scotia coverage and liability insurance as a contractor.- No ties to a trade or supplier on these jobs, or you declare them up front.- A plus: Red Seal or Gold Seal; panelized framing; knowing the local inspectors.
**Terms**- Independent contract, from early October to dry-in around year-end, then renewable monthly.- Pay: a day rate plus mileage, invoiced monthly.
