Helping Spirit Lodge Society (HSLS)

Helping Spirit Lodge Society (HSLS) is a non-profit that provides wrap-around services to women and children fleeing domestic violence and homelessness. We are the leading Indigenous women’s organization in the Lower Mainland to alleviate family violence and enhance community wellness through a traditional, holistic approach. Offering first-stage emergency housing, a second-stage 18-month housing program, and long-term housing and employment supports, we meet community members where they are at.

HSLS has served the Greater Vancouver area for over 29 years and has helped thousands of individuals. Our organization’s work is shaped by the belief that it is the Indigenous people who must set the agenda in providing solutions to problems that adversely affect them and their traditionally proud cultural inheritance.
