HireLoft Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Canadian construction company to hire an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Electrical Superintendent for a major infrastructure project in the Ottawa region.

The Opportunity
This is a senior field leadership role responsible for the electrical scope on a large infrastructure project. You will take ownership of project delivery from planning through to closeout, lead site teams and crews, and play a key role in the overall success, safety and profitability of the project. Our client is open to candidates at either the Project Manager or Superintendent level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical scope of work on a large infrastructure project
- Build and lead a high-performing project team including superintendents, forepersons, coordinators and electrical crews
- Manage project schedules, cost codes and budgets, and be accountable for meeting or beating targets
- Review estimates and identify opportunities to improve project margins
- Generate and review RFIs, manage change orders and price extra work
- Serve as the key point of contact for electrical submittals and ensure contract compliance
- Oversee the equipment control log and review O&M manuals
- Attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) and ensure equipment deficiencies are resolved prior to shipment
- Review contract documents against quotations and bills of materials to identify scope gaps
- Manage relationships with owners, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors
- Administer the terms of the collective agreement and lead a unionized workforce
- Prepare and approve timesheets, provide performance feedback, and coach team members
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Support commissioning, quality control, substantial completion, closeout and warranty processes
- Document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement across projects
What You Bring
- 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician certification (required)
- 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Electrical Superintendent on heavy, industrial or civil construction projects
- Hands-on experience with high voltage installation (required)
- Experience on water or wastewater treatment plant projects is a strong asset
- Experience working on unionized sites and administering collective agreements
- Solid understanding of mechanical and civil trades in addition to electrical
- Experience with commissioning, automation and project closeout is an asset
- Strong knowledge of scheduling, cost control, planning and reading engineering drawings
- Construction-related degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- PMP or other project management certification is an asset
- Valid WHMIS, Elevated Work Platform and Fall Arrest certificates
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and construction management tools
