TEACHERS – Division Schools

We are looking to hire two temporary 1.0 FTE teachers to support students with complex needs in our Division Schools. These assignments are to commence as soon as possible and terminate June 30, 2027. Funded through the Alberta Education Classroom Complexity Grant, this role is dedicated to supporting Junior High students in Grades 7–9 with diverse and complex learning profiles. Based in one of our Junior High Schools and working as a key member of our Complexity Team, the successful candidate will provide targeted, relationship-based support to students, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners and students navigating behavioral or mental health challenges. This position is covered by the ATA collective agreement.

Key Responsibilities
- Collabo rative Teaching: Partner closely with classroom teachers and the division-wide Complexity Team to co-plan, team-teach, and implement inclusive classroom strategies;
- Targeted Interventions: Lead small-group instruction and deliver individualized, one-on-one interventions designed to remove barriers to learning;
- Student Support: Implement trauma-informed and strength-based approaches to foster academic growth, positive behavior, and mental wellness;
- Documentation & Growth: Monitor and adapt student support plans in alignment with division goals and Alberta Education guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified to teach in the province of Alberta;
- Deeply committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces where every learner can thrive;
- Experience supporting children or youth with behavioural, social-emotional, mental-health, trauma-related, or neurodevelopmental needs;
- Demonstrates high adaptability and comfort with evolving program frameworks; willing to trial, iterate, and refine support strategies collaboratively in order to best meet the needs of the students;
- Strong commitment to Catholic Education;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both spoken and written;
- Ability to build professional capacity in teachers.
