Catalyst Operator
Job Description
Responsible for loading and unloading catalyst into trucks and rail cars. Will occasionally be driving a bobtail dump truck around facility. Will have to record scale tickets of weighted trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections on truck and trailer pre/post trip.
- Daily driving route to Fort Saskatchewan and back to the shop.
- Receive proper permits before job begins onsite from panel operator.
- Perform daily tasks at refinery which includes; backing a trailer into a tight area, hooking and unhooking an offloading hose from the trailer to the catalyst offloading system monitor air pressure in trailer while offloading and switching hoppers using butterfly valves on trailer.
- Sign off permits and pull truck and trailer offsite.
- Unloading catalyst bags from trailers using forklift and a ramp.
- Service catalyst bins when needed.
- General housekeeping duties daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Class 1 driver’s license – will operate class one vehicles on refineries.
- Forklift and plant/refinery expereince a plus but not required.
- Previous experience working at #ft height a plus but not required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to wear respirator # % of shift.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to climb, bend, and stoop to perform various functions of the position.
- Ability to climb up/down a ladder and at least 2 flights of stairs on a regular basis.
- Strenuous physical effort which requires standing on a concrete floor for prolonged periods of time.
- Good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
Work Environment:
- Work is in an unairconditioned warehouse.
- Will be working in different weather conditions.
- Will be working with and around hazardous and nonhazardous chemicals.
- Subject to loud noises.
