Microsoft Cloud Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 & Azure Infrastructure Administrator to support and maintain enterprise Microsoft cloud, messaging, identity, and infrastructure services. Working within a large complex enterprise environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory, and Exchange services. This is a one-year contract opportunity based in Ottawa and is well suited to a hands-on technical professional with strong operational support, automation, and cloud infrastructure experience.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and related cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure services.
- Configure, integrate, monitor, and optimize Microsoft cloud, identity, messaging, and infrastructure services to ensure availability, performance, security, and operational effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, platform, integration, and service-related issues, and support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery activities.
- Plan, test, implement, and document system changes, upgrades, migrations, and service improvements.
- Assess new technologies, service updates, risks, vulnerabilities, and operational requirements, providing technical analysis, recommendations, and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, standards, and knowledge resources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and service providers to support project delivery, service management, and operational objectives.
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and operational support to designated personnel.
Qualifications
- Must currently hold a valid Government of Canada Secret clearance*
- Minimum five (5) years of experience administering and supporting large-scale Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Exchange enterprise environments (40,000+ users)
- Experience configuring, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
- Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory within hybrid identity environments.
- Experience developing and using automation and scripting solutions to support administration, monitoring, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Experience providing operational support for enterprise Microsoft infrastructure environments, including monitoring, incident resolution, change management, risk identification, and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience supporting cloud, identity, messaging, and infrastructure services in complex enterprise environments.
- Active Microsoft certifications relevant to Microsoft 365, Azure, identity and access management, cloud architecture, messaging, or cybersecurity.
*A Secret clearance is a federal security clearance issued by the Government of Canada that authorizes access to Secret information, assets and facilities.
