Our client, an industrial products and services company based on the South Shore of Montréal, is seeking an International Business Development Lead to drive its growth across international markets.
This is a highly entrepreneurial, hunter-focused role for someone who thrives on opening new markets, identifying opportunities, building relationships from the ground up, and converting prospects into long-term business partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities across international markets.
- Build a pipeline from scratch through proactive prospecting and market development.
- Identify and approach potential customers, distributors, agents, and strategic partners.
- Develop new territories and establish the company’s presence in targeted markets.
- Manage the full business development cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and international partners.
- Identify market trends, competitive activity, and new commercial opportunities.
- Represent the company at international trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
- Collaborate internally with technical, operations, and leadership teams to develop solutions adapted to customer needs.
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Sales or Business Development, ideally within the industrial, manufacturing sectors.
- Strong hunter mentality, with demonstrated experience developing new business rather than primarily managing existing accounts.
- Proven ability to build a market, territory, or client base from the ground up.
- Solid international business development experience and comfort working across different countries and cultures.
- Fluent English / Anglophone profile required, given the international scope of the position.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, relationship-building, and closing skills.
- Autonomous, entrepreneurial, persistent, and results-oriented.
- Comfortable working in an agile environment where initiative and hands-on execution are essential.
- Availability for international travel as required.
