ROLE
Directly responsible to the Manager, Facilities Management for effectively and efficiently providing quality maintenance services as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Hold a current HVAC/Refrigeration Licence 313A
- Hold a current ODP Certificate
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
- A minimum of five years’ experience maintaining and servicing HVAC equipment
- Competent and able to perform Refrigeration and HVAC repairs and maintenance work on hospital equipment.
- Able to perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance duties for various systems and equipment.
- Be familiar with automated Work Order Systems
- Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting for a wide variety of equipment other than HVAC and typical to a hospital
- Must be a ‘self-starter’ who thrives in an environment with minimal supervision
- Able to work some shift work
- Able to assume ‘on-call’ duties in a regular rotation
- Able to reason, use good judgment, and work through problems common to a hospital culminating in satisfactory results
- Able to work well in a highly stressful environment
- Must demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills and work closely with peers, staff, patients, visitors, and management staff
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Experience with heating boilers and air-conditioning equipment an asset
- Understanding of energy conservation theory and work towards improvement
- Computer literate
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
- TSSA Gas Technician G1 or G2 License an asset
- Working knowledge of a variety of computerized Building Automation Systems an asset

Hours of Work: 8-hour shifts days, evenings and weekends, on-call, 7 days/week may be subject to change
