Assistant Professor–Management

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Department of Management and Organizational Studies at Huron University College invites applications for a probationary, full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. or DBA in Management or Business Administration and be responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate experience in a small, liberal arts context. Joining a vibrant and close-knit community of faculty, the successful candidate will be expected to teach 2.5 full undergraduate courses per year, including 1.5 courses will be in project management, maintain an active research program that is inclusive of undergraduate researchers, and engage in the administrative life of the department and university.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. or DBA completed, or ABD with all requirements expected to be fulfilled by July 1, 2027, in one or more of the following areas: project management, strategy, operations, organizational behaviour, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
- Demonstrated record of research achievement in the applicant’s field and the capacity to generate scholarly outputs (e.g., publications, research funding, and engagement in interdisciplinary collaboration) commensurate with their career level.
- Evidence of ability to teach across the curriculum core in management alongside electives in organizational behaviour, operations, strategy, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
- Willingness to teach in a small liberal-arts, seminar-style format, or experience with experiential/applied learning (case competitions, consulting projects, student ventures).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or an equivalent professional designation will be considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate the relevance of their research to a business audience.
- Capacity to work collaboratively to ensure consistency across multi-section courses and to foster a culture of inquiry, collegiality, and creativity.
- Alignment with Huron's mission of Leaders with Heart and desire to contribute to service within the school or university.
COMPENSATION:
Subject to budgetary approval and in alignment with the governing Collective Agreement, the appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence July 1, 2027.
This position is eligible for enrollment in Huron’s Pension and Benefit plans and will be compensated as outlined in the governing Collective Agreement.
