Carpenters and Construction Labourers – Demolition

Position Summary
IDL is seeking experienced Carpenters and Labourers to join our team for an upcoming demolition project. These positions will be part of an effective construction team responsible for completing demolition activities safely and efficiently, in accordance with approved plans, specifications and applicable codes.
Responsibilities
- Perform concrete demolition and removal
- Remove masonry walls and related materials
- Cut and remove rebar, metal handrails and other accessories
- Dismantle structures, fixtures and construction components
- Operate jackhammers, sledgehammers and other demolition tools
- Load, unload and move construction materials and debris
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, barricades and other temporary structures
- Assist tradespersons and other members of the construction team
- Remove rubble and debris to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery and equipment used in demolition and construction
- Follow all site-specific safety procedures and hazard-control requirements
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in construction, demolition or a similar role
- Carpentry experience and relevant trade qualifications are preferred for Carpenter positions
- Previous demolition experience is considered an asset
- Abatement experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with construction terminology, tools and practices
- Experience using jackhammers, sledgehammers, saws and other demolition tools
- Physically capable of performing demanding work, including lifting, carrying and working on your feet for extended periods
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to understand and effectively follow verbal and written directions
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace
- Adherence to company Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, reporting procedures and assessments
