Lab Admin / Data Center Admin – Linux

Technical Experience
- Basic computer hardware and asset knowledge
- Linux Administration and Linux commands
- Data center lab experience
- Operating System installation – Windows Server, Linux, Unix
- Cabling knowledge beyond dressing or running cabling, including:
- Understanding port mapping
- Understanding the differences and purposes of each cable type
- Basic hardware troubleshooting and applying logical methods of resolution
- Rack, build, cable, configure, and provision servers
- Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment
- Troubleshoot, test, and perform quality assurance of server hardware
- Professionally resolve hardware issues through trouble tickets
- RAID levels experience is a plus
- Web Server and Database installation experience is a plus
Job Responsibilities
- Rack, build, cable, configure, and provision servers.
- Rack, cable, and deploy Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment.
- Troubleshoot and test server hardware.
- Perform quality assurance of server hardware.
- Resolve hardware issues through trouble tickets.
- Perform operating system installations for Windows Server, Linux, and Unix.
- Work with data center lab environments.
- Handle cabling, port mapping, and different cable types.
- Apply logical troubleshooting methods to resolve hardware issues.
Additional Requirements
- Comfortable lifting approximately 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for long hours and work on ladders.
- Ready to travel on an as-needed basis.
- Must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Must be willing to learn quickly, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
