Position Summary

We are seeking an agile, execution-driven Graphic Designer to step in on an initial 12-month maternity leave contract, with the successful candidate starting in mid to late October for a smooth handover. Fluency in Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with our manufacturing partners.

You will directly design product packaging, manuals, and collateral, oversee master production files, alongside digital asset creation, supplier communications, and daily e-commerce merchandising support.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging, Manuals & Technical File Oversight

Packaging & Manual Design (Print & Structural): Directly design and layout physical product packaging, user manuals (in both EN/FR), inserts, and product labels from concept to print-ready production files.
OEM Master File Governance: Maintain absolute technical oversight of production master files, ensuring all structural designs, die-lines, and compliance elements meet strict manufacturing specs and transition smoothly from design to production.
Testing & Certification Coordination: Coordinate administrative workflows and testing requirements with laboratories (e.g., SGS) to guarantee product and packaging safety standards.

Digital Asset Creation & Creative Execution

Web & Promotional Design: Design and optimize web banners, landing page assets, and promotional graphics optimized for performance (CTR, conversions, mobile-first) across our e-commerce platform.
Product Listings & Infographics: Enhance product imagery through professional retouching, color correction, and informative infographic creation to improve the online shopping experience.
Brand Governance & Asset Control: Act as a brand steward ensuring visual consistency across sub-brands, maintaining an organized centralized file structure, and preparing fast-loading web assets.
Cross-Functional Handoffs: Collaborate closely with sales, logistics, and marketing teams to support seasonal campaigns, product launches, and efficient file handoffs.

Vendor Coordination (Mandarin Required)

Direct Supplier Communication: Leverage fluent Mandarin skills to lead daily communication, alignment, and follow-ups with international manufacturing partners regarding production, packaging runs, and timelines.
Sample & PO Tracking: Manage factory sampling timelines, prototype reviews, and centralized tracking dashboards for Purchase Orders (POs) and production milestones.

Qualifications & Experience

· Contract Duration: Initial 12-month fixed-term maternity leave contract.

· Start Date: Candidate availability required in early to mid-October for handover and onboarding.

· Mandatory Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in Mandarin (verbal and written) for seamless international supplier communication and technical factory alignment.

· Time Zone Flexibility: Ability and willingness to communicate with overseas manufacturing partners outside of regular office hours when required.

· Experience: 1 to 3 years of combined experience in graphic design (print/packaging and e-commerce digital assets) and product development coordination or sourcing.

· Technical Skills: Strong technical grasp of Adobe Creative Suite, production file preparation, packaging, and manufacturing requirements (EN/FR localization experience is a strong asset).

· Administrative & Data Skills: Proficient in data tracking and excel.

Compensation & Performance Bonus

· Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000 CAD
