Building Energy Engineer
Impact Engineering is currently seeking a self-motivated engineer to join our Building Performance practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for low carbon building design, and for making a positive impact on the environment.
The qualified candidate will have in-depth knowledge of building mechanical systems and be proficient at delivering energy & carbon feasibility studies. They will have proven expertise in identifying and modelling energy and carbon reduction opportunities for buildings.
You are a detail-oriented engineer, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. A strong technical background in HVAC design, energy studies and / or building recommissioning is a prerequisite for this role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Delivery of building energy studies, with a focus on low / zero carbon retrofit solutions.
- Develop schematic level mechanical retrofit designs.
- Energy modelling and business case development for low energy & carbon retrofits.
- Delivery of building recommissioning assignments.
- Delivery of Measurement & Verification (M&V) assignments
- Effective project management to meet client & funding objectives.
Skills/Qualifications
- Currently registered as a P.Eng. with EGBC (or eligible to register).
- Requirement for minimum five years as an E.I.T. / P.Eng. in a similar role.
- Familiarity with a variety of building HVAC systems is essential for this role.
- Knowledge of building controls and energy management systems is required.
- Knowledge of building design concepts and fundamentals.
- Experience with energy modeling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience in project management, client interaction and sales is an asset.
