Job Type: Full-Time – Current Vacancy
Salary: $50,200 - $68,300

Position Summary
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounts payable function for a mid-sized manufacturing company. This role ensures vendor invoices, payment runs, supplier records, and related documentation are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, approval requirements, internal controls, and supplier terms. The Senior Accounts Payable Administrator serves as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, provides support and guidance to the Accounts Payable Administrator, and contributes to process improvements, performance monitoring, and continuous enhancement of the accounts payable function. This position plays an important role in maintaining strong supplier relationships, supporting cash flow management, ensuring financial accuracy, and safeguarding company assets through effective controls and compliance practices.

- Analyze and resolve invoice, payment, and supplier discrepancies.
- Build and maintain strong supplier and internal stakeholder relationships.

- Support and mentor team members through guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment in handling financial information.

Education & Experience
- Education:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Experience:
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in a mid-sized or large manufacturing environment.
- Experience with full accounts payable cycle in a high-volume invoice processing and weekly payment runs environment
- Experience communicating directly with suppliers and resolving account discrepancies.
- Experience preparing payment advice and remittance documentation.
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems is required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (DAX) or a similar ERP system is considered an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets, sort and filter data, and analyze accounts payable information.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and best practices.
- Understanding of purchase order, receiving, and invoice matching processes.
- Understanding of vendor management, supplier reconciliations, and payment processing.
- Knowledge of month-end activities, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with fraud prevention practices and financial compliance requirements.
- Understanding of manufacturing environments and supplier-based operations.
