Salary:
$65,200 - $92,600

Position Summary The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating manufacturing requirements to ensure material is available, production capacity is considered, and production orders progress according to established priorities. Working closely with Production, Inventory, Materials, and other departments, the Production Planner serves as a key link between the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and shop-floor execution. The role maintains planning integrity within the ERP system, monitors work-in-process (WIP), identifies schedule risks and constraints, and coordinates recovery actions when production deviates from plan. The successful candidate will have strong manufacturing knowledge, analytical capability, ERP/MRP experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment. About You
At our company, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following criteria:
- Develop realistic production schedules based on material, capacity, WIP, and shop-floor conditions
- Identify and communicate production risks and constraints
- Investigate planning exceptions and overdue production orders
- Assess the impact of material shortages and delayed WIP on production
- Identify discrepancies between ERP information and actual shop-floor conditions
- Coordinate production recovery actions when schedules are not achieved
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Education & Experience
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, materials planning.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of production processes and material flow.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems to manage production orders, material requirements, schedules, and planning data.
- Experience with production scheduling and coordinating manufacturing requirements based on material availability, capacity, WIP, and production priorities.
- Experience identifying and resolving material shortages, production delays, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts.
- Experience monitoring WIP and production orders through various stages of manufacturing.
- Experience analyzing planning data and identifying trends, exceptions, and potential impacts to production.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Inventory, Materials, Purchasing, Quality, and other departments.
- Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment is preferred.
