Position Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the movement of incoming and outgoing goods within the organization. This role ensures that shipments are accurately received, inspected, documented, stored, and distributed. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk maintains inventory accuracy and prepares products for both shipment and internal departments to support efficient warehouse production operations.

Education & Experience
- Education: GED or equivalent
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, experienced forklift operator
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report them according to company procedures
- Record received goods in an inventory management system
- Label, organize, and store materials safely in designated warehouse locations
- Communicate receiving discrepancies to suppliers, purchasing, or management
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company procedures
- Generate shipping documentation such as bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier labels
- Track outgoing shipments and assist with resolving delivery issues
- Maintain and track accurate inventory records and transaction documentation
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required
- Follow all company policies and health and safety regulations
- Carry out additional duties as assigned
Skills
- Ability to safely operate material handing equipment
- Basic computer proficiency including the ability to learn new software
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders
- Familiarity with provincial health and safety regulations
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
