About the Role
A Financial Analyst III has to support succession planning and contribute to the execution of the company’s accounting, budgetary, and regulatory cycle. This role offers exposure to capital management, long‑term debt, dividends, salaries, pensions, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in month‑end activities: journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly/annual financial statements with commentary.
- Review end‑of‑month entries and analyze variances in volumes, distribution rates, customer additions, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and income tax.
- Provide data, reports, and ad hoc analysis for decision‑making.
- Support interim and year‑end audits.
- Assist in preparing regulatory responses and documents.
- Draft accounting policy decisions under USGAAP.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term planning.
- Continuously improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Update and develop modeling tools to meet evolving business needs.
- Build versatility across Finance Team tasks.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting designation with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Bilingual (French & English).
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and in a team environment.
- Leadership and team spirit.
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion (asset).
- Familiarity with federal and Quebec tax compliance regimes.
- Understanding of project profitability assessment and investment decision criteria (asset).
