Infosys Public Services is seeking a Senior System Engineer. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design; play an important role in creating the high-level design artifacts; deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Required Qualifications:- Candidate must be located within commuting distance in Ottawa, ON or be willing to relocate to the area.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering/CA/MBA. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- At least 2 years of Information Technology experience.

Job Description: - Security Engineer will support the implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity controls for client projects. Engineer will assist in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, applications, cloud services, and information assets. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with daily security monitoring and investigation of security alerts.
- Support the administration of SIEM, endpoint protection, antivirus, and EDR solutions.
- Perform vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, and reporting activities.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls, policies, and standards.
- Monitor security dashboards and escalate incidents or suspicious activities.
- Support user access reviews, identity lifecycle management, and MFA administration.
- Assist with security assessments, audits, and compliance reporting activities.
- Participate in system hardening, patch management, and configuration reviews.
- Support cloud security monitoring and security posture management activities.
- Assist with penetration testing remediation and vulnerability mitigation efforts.
- Maintain security documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Work collaboratively with infrastructure, cloud, application, and operations teams to address security findings.
- Participate in security awareness and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, infrastructure support, systems administration, or security operations.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments and enterprise IT Security systems.
- Basic experience working with security monitoring, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, or identity management tools.
- Experience participating in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Identity & Access Management (IAM): User account management, authentication, authorization, MFA, and role-based access controls.
- Security Monitoring: Monitoring security events, alerts, and suspicious activities using security tools and dashboards.
- Vulnerability Management: Identifying, assessing, tracking, and supporting remediation of security vulnerabilities.
- Endpoint Security: Administration and monitoring of endpoint protection, antivirus, and EDR solutions.
- Security Incident Response: Assisting with the investigation, containment, and documentation of security incidents.
- Cloud Security: Supporting security controls and compliance within cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure.
- Network Security: Basic understanding of firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and access controls.
- Security Logging & SIEM: Collecting, analyzing, and monitoring security logs through SIEM platforms.
- System Hardening & Configuration Management: Applying security baselines and secure configuration standards to servers and endpoints.
- PowerShell Scripting: Create simple scripts to automate administrative and security-related tasks.
- Automation Experience: Use automation tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

- Microsoft SC-200 Security Operations Analyst
- ISC² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
Security Clearance- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Ontario or client-required security clearance if required.
Estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows:In Ottawa, ON: $71,718 to $105,007.
